Bottoms Up Pilates combines three of the best things in the world: professionally led Pilates, which develops your body in ways no other workout can; excellent wine, which boosts the mood like no one’s business, and hours of laughter, which—well, we don’t have to tell you what laughter does. For New Yorkers, who play as hard as they work, it’s the perfect trifecta.
Each Bottoms Up session begins with a 75-minute Pilates mat class, a breathing, strengthening and stretching-based workout. The class is designed for all skill levels, so you don’t have to have practiced Pilates before to enjoy it. You do, however, have to be 21, because the class is immediately followed by a 75-minute wine tasting, where you’ll be guided by an expert sommelier through a specially chosen flight of reds, whites and bubbly. It’s an intoxicating experience in more ways than one.
Beyond our pop-up sessions, Bottoms Up is perfect for corporate events, birthdays, bachelorette parties, really anywhere you’d like to add some “spirit” to the occasion. Just tell us about your event and we’ll come to you, mats and merlots in hand.
Bottoms Up is the brainchild of two master Pilates instructors, Michele Rinaldi and Tracey Ryan. (For more on what makes them masters, see their site links below.) Friends and colleagues since they shared studio space years ago, the two had always wanted to collaborate; ultimately it was a shared love of their work and wine that inspired the idea. Today, both are independent studio owners who’ve practiced Pilates in New York for more than 20 years (and have practiced wine tasting for longer than we’ll mention here).
